Siblings:One older sister and one older brother (both happily married), and a cousin who is essentially my little brother. I am also an auntie to three beautiful nieces and two handsome nephews.
Education:BA in English Literature, with a Minor in Italian Language; Masters in Teaching (both from Seattle University)
Best College Memory:My friends and I created an Amazing Race game for two of our friends' birthdays (which were on the same day). We made clues and left them in different shops all over Seattle. It was Team Tam (Girls team) vs. Team Tim (Boys team), and we made shirts for each team. Our race began at Seattle University in Capitol Hill, and took us to Pioneer Square, the Seattle Waterfront, Pike Place Market, Westlake Shopping Center, Belltown, and ended at the Space Needle in the Seattle Center.
Hobbies/Interests:I love reading for long hours, going for long walks on sunny PNW mornings, playing the piano, hiking, cooking and baking, watching Marvel movies, quoting Will Ferrell movies (Elf in particular), and rowing on calm waters.
Favorite Classic Book: I love The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings Series by J.R.R. Tolkien. The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger is another classic work that I love--it's impossible to choose just one favorite!
Favorite Movie:Young Frankenstein (written/directed by Mel Brooks)
Favorite TV Show(s):Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, Supernatural, Sherlock, Doctor Who...I may have too many shows I enjoy watching :/
Favorite Superhero: It's a tie between Captain America and Iron Man. I am a HUGE Marvel fan! DC fans will be tolerated ;) I only kid...all nerd fandoms are welcome in my class!
Favorite Sports Team: Seahawks, of course!
Favorite Hot Drink: Black tea and COFFEE....Mmmmm
Favorite Quote:"All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost."--J.R.R. Tolkien
Something Unique About Me: After college, I wanted to travel abroad and utilize my Italian language minor. So I joined a program called Greenheart Travel, and I lived with a family in Sicily, Italy as a private English tutor for three months. I also contributed as a travel writer to the program's website. They published five of my pieces describing what it was like living in another country. It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life, and I still Skype with my family there as often as possible.
